Yuko Oshima is a Japanese singer and gravure idol (formerly U-15). She was formerly part of Doll's Vox and is now part of Akihabara48's 'Team K'. She was also one of the members of the unit ICE from AKB48. Yuko is so far the only member of AKB48 to have had a solo song released on one of AKB48's albums, which she does in Team K 3rd Stage - Nonai Paradise. The song is called Nakinagara Hohoende, and is track 5 on the album.
Yuko has been consistently given prominent roles in AKB48's singles and PVs. Aitakatta's PV (the first one she participated in) saw Yuko and Takahashi Minami running through a town to meet a friend, played by Maeda Atsuko. Seifuku ga Jama wo Suru gave Yuko her first A-side solo, and featured her (among others) wandering the streets of Shibuya. In Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou, she played the distraught best friend of a victim of bullying (played by Miyazawa Sae), and in BINGO! Yuko was featured as a captive on a 'pirate ship' along with the single's other leads.
Yuko's place among the lead vocalists of AKB48 was seemingly cemented recently, when she took a main role in the new PV for the re-release of Sakura no Hanabiratachi - acting opposite Maeda Atsuko for a short drama introduction and interlude, and continuing to hold a large amount of screentime throughout the rest of the PV. She was even featured on the single's limited edition (B-version) cover with Minegishi Minami, Maeda Atsuko, Kojima Haruna and Kasai Tomomi, whereas formerly prominent name Takahashi Minami was not.
